Erica and Mike’s Outer Banks Wedding at Aqua Spa in Duck

Erica and Mike’s Outer Banks wedding at Aqua Spa in Duck, NC was truly incredible and we’re honored to have been a part of their big day! From the moment we first spoke with Erica and Mike on Skype, we just had that feeling that they were going to be a great couple to work with. Needless to say, when we first met with them in December for their engagement pictures in the Outer Banks, they easily exceeded our expectations and we absolutely fell in love with their sweet dog, Sadie.

When their wedding day arrived, all the pieces started falling into place; one picture at a time, we (Jayson) began documenting the day as it unfolded in front of us. One aspect of the wedding day that especially stood out to us was Sadie (Erica and Mike’s sweet dog) love for Erica. Sadie never left Erica’s side during the getting ready process and looked on as Erica’s stylist and makeup artist put the final touches on her hair and makeup. Most brides would cringe at the thought of having a dog sit on their wedding dress, thankfully Erica loved the idea but it was Sadie that really ‘stretched out’ the idea. Sadly, Sadie couldn’t attend the ceremony, but she was happy to handle ‘best dog’ responsibilities back at the beach house with a bowl of food and her favorite chew toy.

Erica and Mike’s Outer Banks wedding day came and went in a flash. We’re humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to work with Erica, Mike, their incredible families, and some of the best wedding vendors in the Outer Banks of NC (be sure to see the complete list below and let them know we recommended them).

Celebrations at the Reservoir Wedding – Michele and Jason’s Perfect Day!

Michele and Jason’s Celebrations at the Reservoir Wedding was truly stunning and we’re honored to have had the opportunity to work with them and their incredible family!

What comes to mind when you think about a perfect wedding day? Of course, everyone will have a different opinion, but we can all agree that a perfect wedding day includes at least a beautiful bride, handsome groom, lots of love, family, friends, and a little sunshine? Add one of Richmond’s best wedding venues, Celebrations at the Reservoir, and you have all the ingredients for a perfect wedding day.

We first met Michele and Jason at Katie and Brian’s beautiful wedding in Williamsburg. Before we knew it, we were meeting with them about their own wedding and making plans to capture the moments that mattered most to them. One of those being the “first look”…

When Michele and Jason first visited Heron’s View at Celebrations at the Reservoir, they fell in love with the long dock leading to The Garden at Celebrations. Michele wanted to see Jason’s face when he saw her for the first time; since Michele wanted to walk in from the dock, Jason would see her long before she could see his face. The solution was this beautiful ”first look”; a truly incredible moment that we’re honored to have been able to witness.

Family Pictures on The Northern Neck in Lottsburg:

For many Virginia and Maryland families, The Northern Neck is a place to get away from it all. A place to enjoy quite sunsets that you never seem to notice back home. A place to reunite with family and friends while spending time on the water or simply telling stories on the dock. The Northern Neck is a place where family and friends finally find the time to do what’s really important: making memories that last a lifetime.

A picture is and always will be a picture; however, it becomes something more when your memories can be attached to it. When Lucy contacted us to inquire about family portraits at the family bay house in Lottsburg, we set out to take Lucy’s vision and deliver that perfect family picture to her and her family.

It’s hard to believe over a year has passed since we shot Julia and Doug’s wedding less than a mile from where Lucy and her family call home during the summer.
