It’s an honor to meet you!

Jayson's love of photography started when he was given his first camera, a Kodak 110, by his Aunt Susan when he was just six years old.

During his adolescent and teenage years, he enjoyed travel, wildlife, and landscape photography. While attending college at Virginia Commonwealth University, Jayson enrolled in a photography class and discovered a talent for human subjects.

Determined not to ruin a hobby by making it a business, Jayson, together with his wife Rachael, decided to start Jayson and Rachael Photography in 2011 after a less than positive experience with their own wedding photographer.

"Jayson and Rachael Photography started from a desire to treat others the way we should have been treated."

Jayson focused on weddings and engagements until late 2014 when the decision was made to refocus on family portraits to allow more time for his own growing family.

Jayson and Rachael currently have three beautiful children and Jayson works with nearly 50 families each year from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Richmond, Virginia.
